The California Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District maintains three divisional offices which serve 34

The Sacramento Division covers the counties of Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen,
Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity,
Yolo, and Yuba County, including zip codes within San Joaquin County of 95220, 95227, 95234, 95237, 95240,
95241, 95242, 95253, 95258, and 95686. The Modesto Division covers the counties of Calaveras, Stanislaus,
Tuolumne, and San Joaquin County, except zip codes within San Joaquin County designated for the Sacramento
Division. The Fresno Division covers the counties of Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, and
Tulare County.
The Eastern District provides examples of petitions, schedules, forms, local rules and official instructions
that may be useful when filing. Be aware that instructions provided are general, and are not a substitutive for
legal advice which may provided by a qualified attorney. The Code prohibits judges, clerks and personnel to provide
debtors with information that may be construed as legal counsel. This provision applies
